How is Norfolk for outdoor activities?

I grew up here but left for a while. Average temperature is around 48--F, so expect cold winters.

Came here for school and stayed because I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The healthcare is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.

I've been here 10 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Bought a house here in 2018 and it's not perfect but it works for me. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

I've been living here for 12 years and I'd say I'm still on the fence after all this time. The community vibe is excellent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Happy to answer more specific questions..

As someone who grew up here, it was the best decision I ever made. A lot has changed in the past few years though. public transit used to be much developing but now it's solid.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are average, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
