Is Norfolk a good place to live?

Hello, I'm a 22-year-old police officer and With a population of 25,962, Norfolk is a smaller city. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Worth the trade-offs? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 8 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The The Heights side vs the Eastside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Public transit is improving here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I'm still on the fence after all this time.
