First post here. I grew up here but left for a while. The unemployment rate is 1.8%, which is pretty low. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Should I be concerned? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Seattle about 7 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Decent public transit for the size
- Active local events and festivals
Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Limited entertainment options
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are reasonable, gas is decent.
Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Definitely worth checking out..
