OK so Average temperature is around 62°F, so the weather is moderate. It's a a mid-size city city with about 235K people. Homes are going for about $271,900 on average. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to. Am I wrong here? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Eastside. It's surprisingly good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in consulting. If you're in finance you might struggle.
People: Generally tough. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like craft beer.
