Thinking about relocating to Norfolk from Portland

Random thought, I'm a college student here and Poverty rate is 12.6%, which is around average. Crime rate is something to consider — Norfolk sits at 545.7 per 100K. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. What would you do?

Bought a house here in 2021 and the quality of life is solid. Property values have gone about the same since then.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are better than expected, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
