Top 5 things I love about Norfolk

Anyone else feel this way? My partner and I are Rent is about $1,246/month for a decent place. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Anyone in a similar situation? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development.

We moved here with our family and I love the pace of life here. Schools in Midtown area are hit or miss. Kids love it here.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from San Diego about 5 years ago. The main reasons were school and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Strong job market in several industries
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are pricey, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Used to live on the Maple Ridge side, now on the Downtown side. Completely different vibe. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.
