What I wish I knew before living in Normal

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I've been here for 19 years and Homes are going for about $199,900 on average. Poverty rate is 6.2%, which is pretty low. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Thanks! People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

I've lived in North for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Strong job market in several industries
- The school system scene is solid

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for young professionals. Definitely worth checking out..
