Alright, Crime rate is something to consider — Norman sits at 267.8 per 100K. It's a a mid-size city city with about 129K people. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Is this normal for Norman?

I work in healthcare here and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The job market for my field is decent. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I'm a contractor and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. The community is pretty good and there's always something going on.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value safety, you'll love it. The healthcare is genuinely improving and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (Pine Hills) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Nashville, be prepared for the culture shock. walkability is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
