Norman quality of life — am I missing something?

Hello, Median household income is $65,060, which feels about average for the area. The median home value here is around $239,300, which is actually reasonable. The unemployment rate is 3.6%, which is pretty low. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Pros:
- Diverse community
- Low taxes
- Easy commute
- Strong sense of community
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Limited nightlife
- Limited dining options
- Limited cultural events
Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The suburbs are where most families end up. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Used to live on the Downtown side, now on the Highland side. Completely different vibe. it was the best decision I ever made.
