OK so Just moved here 3 months ago and Average temperature is around 55--F, so expect cold winters. With a population of 35,782, Norristown is a smaller city. The median home value here is around $205,100, which is actually reasonable. Rent is about $1,337/month for a decent place. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. Is this normal for Norristown? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is cost of living. it's not perfect but it works for me. Worth doing your research before committing.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Charlotte about 15 years ago. The main reasons were school and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good schools in most areas
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Dating scene is rough
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are growing, gas is hit or miss.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Definitely worth checking out..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
