Not sure if this has been asked before, but Crime rate is something to consider -Norristown sits at 493.8 per 100K. With a population of 35,782, Norristown is a smaller city. It's a a smaller city city with about 35,782 people. The city has invested a lot in new development. The weather takes some getting used to. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

As someone who grew up here, it's been a really good experience overall. A lot has changed in the past few years though. housing market used to be much reasonable but now it's excellent.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Charlotte about 7 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good healthcare facilities
Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Can feel isolated
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are developing, gas is pretty good.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. No regrets on my end..

Weather-wise, the summers are improving and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is walkability. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Worth doing your research before committing.
