Best hidden gems in North Arlington

Hi all, I'm a teacher here and You can expect to pay around $1,706 for rent here. The median home value here is around $464,700, which is pretty steep. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Am I overthinking this? Thanks in advance! Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from LA about 3 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Active local events and festivals
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are manageable, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 15 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Uptown side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a writer who relocated here from Houston about 3 years ago. The main reasons were weather and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Good internet infrastructure
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are competitive, gas is excellent.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Bought a house here in 2023 and the quality of life is solid. Property values have gone about the same since then.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are challenging, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

As someone who grew up here, I have mixed feelings honestly. A lot has changed in the past few years though. housing market used to be much competitive but now it's pretty good.

I've been here 13 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is excellent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..
