Most overrated things about North Arlington

First post here. Military spouse here. Average temperature is around 55--F, so expect cold winters. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The weather takes some getting used to.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Houston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Cedar Grove. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in tech. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Hope this helps!.
