Not sure if this has been asked before, but Been living here since 2007. The median home value here is around $462,700, which is pretty steep. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Has anyone dealt with this?

I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good schools in most areas
- The outdoor recreation scene is hit or miss
The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Can feel isolated
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for retirees. No regrets on my end..

We moved here with our family and I love the pace of life here. Schools in Old Town area are tough. Kids love it here.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Cedar Grove. It's decent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in engineering you might struggle.
People: Generally challenging. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Korean.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Salt Lake City and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Eastside. It's improving for what you get.
Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in tech. If you're in construction you might struggle.
People: Generally challenging. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.
