Cost of living reality check -North Auburn

Hi all, I'm a college student here and The median home value here is around $503,400, which is pretty steep. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from Denver about 11 years ago. The main reasons were family and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Four distinct seasons
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are wild, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Definitely worth checking out..
