Life in North Bay Shore as a young professional

Hi all, Crime rate is something to consider -North Bay Shore sits at 22.0 per 100K. The median home value here is around $449,900, which is pretty steep. It's a a small town city with about 20,501 people. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Pros:
- Low crime in most areas
- Diverse community
- Good healthcare facilities
- Plenty of shopping options

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Rising rent prices
- Lack of diversity
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Homelessness issues downtown
Would love some local perspective. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are average, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
