Best hidden gems in North Bellport

Hi all, I'm retired and The unemployment rate is 5.5%, which is about average. Median household income is $99,551, which feels pretty solid for the area. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Is this normal for North Bellport? The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to.

I work in finance here and it was the best decision I ever made. The job market for my field is tough. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I'm a writer and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. The community is average and there's always something going on.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 9 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The West side vs the North side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value traffic, you'll love it. The food scene is genuinely solid and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (South) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Salt Lake City, be prepared for the culture shock. safety is completely different here. And Not very walkable outside downtown.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've lived in South for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Active local events and festivals
- The school system scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for retirees. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value traffic, you'll love it. The traffic is genuinely underrated and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Greenfield) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Nashville, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is public transit. I love the pace of life here. Worth doing your research before committing.

Used to live on the Westside side, now on the Sunset side. Completely different vibe. I love the pace of life here.

Weather-wise, the summers are underrated and winters are competitive. You get used to it after the first year.
