Is North Bellport worth it salary-wise?

Hey everyone, I relocated for work and Homes are going for about $392,100 on average. Rent is about $2,930/month for a decent place. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Should I be concerned?

Public transit is average here. You'll probably need a car for most things. the quality of life is solid.

I work in government here and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The job market for my field is underrated. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.

I've been here 14 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Old Town side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Midtown for 13 years. Moved from Atlanta for work. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is average. We bought in 2015 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
real estate is strong here. government is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are pricey for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I love the pace of life here. The outdoor scene is better than expected - we have national forests within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Midtown schools are average. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Bugs and humidity in summer. Far from beaches/mountains. And cost of living can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 9/10. No regrets on my end.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I've lived in Midtown for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Close to major attractions
- Affordable housing options
- The community vibe scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for retirees. Hope this helps!.
