Is North Charleston still affordable?

Been meaning to ask this. My partner and I are You can expect to pay around $1,364 for rent here. Crime rate is something to consider -North Charleston sits at 966.1 per 100K. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Does this match your experience?

Hot take but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. I know a lot of people disagree but after 15 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is job market. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Worth doing your research before committing.

I work in engineering here and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The job market for my field is pretty good. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Used to live on the Pine Hills side, now on the North side. Completely different vibe. it's improved dramatically in recent years.

Bought a house here in 2022 and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Property values have gone about the same since then.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I have mixed feelings honestly. Internet is surprisingly good in most areas.

Weather-wise, the summers are tough and winters are manageable. You get used to it after the first year.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are pretty good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
