Hello, With a population of 117K, North Charleston is a mid-size city. The city has invested a lot in new development. Anyone in a similar situation? Cheers.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Internet is tough in most areas.

I've lived in Eastside for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Lots of new development happening
- The walkability scene is better than expected
The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Can feel isolated
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for retirees. Definitely worth checking out..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a writer who relocated here from San Francisco about 11 years ago. The main reasons were school and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good internet infrastructure
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are stable, gas is better than expected.
Socially, I love the pace of life here. Definitely worth checking out..

My experience has been mostly positive. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The only thing I'd watch out for is pet-friendliness. Other than that, Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Came here for family and stayed because I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The pet-friendliness is honestly excellent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want walkability, then yeah this place is great. But if community vibe matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
