Commute times in North Chicago -how bad?

Alright, Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Westside. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in marketing. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are pretty good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Public transit is average here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's not perfect but it works for me.

Used to live on the West side, now on the East side. Completely different vibe. I have mixed feelings honestly.
