Job market in North Chicago for tech?

Alright, I'm originally from Cleveland and You can expect to pay around $1,392 for rent here. Household incomes average around $56,815 in North Chicago. Median household income is $56,815, which feels about average for the area. Average temperature is around 48--F, so expect cold winters. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Let me know your thoughts. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The suburbs are where most families end up. Weather-wise, the summers are tough and winters are growing. You get used to it after the first year.

The food scene here is hit or miss. Tons of great sushi places. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want community vibe, then yeah this place is great. But if walkability matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good healthcare facilities
- The cost of living scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for singles. Good luck with whatever you decide..

The food scene here is excellent. Tons of great farm-to-table places. I'm still on the fence after all this time.
