Starting a business in North College Hill?

Hey everyone, I relocated for work and The unemployment rate is 4.4%, which is about average. With a population of 9,564, North College Hill is a small town. Average temperature is around 54--F, so expect cold winters. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Am I wrong here? Cheers. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in West. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in retail. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Baltimore about 5 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Lots of new development happening

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are developing, gas is solid.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Hope this helps!.
