Is North Eagle Butte walkable?

Hey folks, I relocated for work and Homes are going for about $37,500 on average. Poverty rate is 43.0%, which is higher than I expected. Average temperature is around 45--F, so expect cold winters. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Appreciate any input. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The weather takes some getting used to. Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value outdoor recreation, you'll love it. The school system is genuinely underrated and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. My neighborhood (Uptown) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Tampa, be prepared for the culture shock. job market is completely different here. And Property taxes are high.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

My experience has been mostly positive. I'm still on the fence after all this time. The only thing I'd watch out for is walkability. Other than that, Happy to answer more specific questions..
