Is North Haledon a good place to live?

So, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and The unemployment rate is 3.3%, which is pretty low. Poverty rate is 1.3%, which is pretty low. The suburbs are where most families end up. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Should I be concerned? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Austin about 8 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are reasonable, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Bought a house here in 2021 and it exceeded my expectations. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

I've lived in Westside for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Close to major attractions
- The pet-friendliness scene is average

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited high-paying job options

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for singles. Hope this helps!.
