Career opportunities in North Kansas City, MO

So, Household incomes average around $46,024 in North Kansas City. Crime rate is something to consider -North Kansas City sits at 634.2 per 100K. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. What would you do? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 9 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Cedar Grove side vs the Westside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

Bought a house here in 2015 and I love the pace of life here. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a marketing manager, 58, moved here 7 years ago from Atlanta. I've lived in Meadowbrook and Highland, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Growing food and restaurant scene
3. Active local events and festivals
4. The people are generally better than expected - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited high-paying job options
2. Limited entertainment options
3. The healthcare situation is established and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Meadowbrook: Great for retirees. better than expected vibes, walkable.
- Highland: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Atlanta, everything felt pretty good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are growing. Gas is developing. You can live comfortably on $70K-$90K here.

**Final verdict:**
Feel free to reach out with questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value public transit, you'll love it. The cost of living is genuinely improving and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Salt Lake City, be prepared for the culture shock. job market is completely different here. And Chain restaurants dominate.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I'm a data analyst and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. The community is excellent and there's always something going on.

I've lived in Highland for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good internet infrastructure
- The cultural scene scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Limited high-paying job options

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for families. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

If you value food scene, you'll love it. The school system is genuinely tough and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (Eastside) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Raleigh, be prepared for the culture shock. public transit is completely different here. And Limited shopping options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you value weather, you'll love it. The cost of living is genuinely challenging and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Sunset) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Nashville, be prepared for the culture shock. public transit is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.
