What's it really like living in North Lakes?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm a nurse at the local hospital and You can expect to pay around $1,459 for rent here. Crime rate is something to consider -North Lakes sits at 579.1 per 100K. It's a a small town city with about 10,583 people. Homes are going for about $338,900 on average. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to. Any advice would be great. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 2 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Maple Ridge side vs the Sunset side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
