Been living here since 2012. The median home value here is around $488,400, which is pretty steep. Rent is about $1,858/month for a decent place. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a writer who relocated here from Dallas about 6 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Strong job market in several industries
- Good internet infrastructure
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Chain restaurants dominate
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are established, gas is hit or miss.
Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Good luck with whatever you decide..
