First time home buyer in North Lauderdale

My family moved here when I was a kid. Rent is about $1,950/month for a decent place. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Worth the trade-offs?

I've been living here for 5 years and I'd say I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The safety is average compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..
