Not sure if this has been asked before, but The unemployment rate is 3.9%, which is pretty low. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Am I overthinking this? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Lakewood. It's improving for what you get.
Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in construction. If you're in retail you might struggle.
People: Generally average. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: average. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.
