Job hunting in North Lauderdale -tips?

Hello, I'm a 47-year-old nurse and Household incomes average around $63,423 in North Lauderdale. It's a a smaller city city with about 44,650 people. Poverty rate is 13.2%, which is around average. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

I've lived in Midtown for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Strong job market in several industries
- The weather scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for remote workers. No regrets on my end..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I genuinely enjoy living here. Internet is tough in most areas.

The food scene here is tough. Tons of great Southern places. it was the best decision I ever made.

Weather-wise, the summers are pretty good and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a marketing manager, 47, moved here 1 years ago from San Francisco. I've lived in Sunset and Meadowbrook, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Lots of new development happening
2. Good internet infrastructure
3. Affordable housing options
4. The people are generally better than expected - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Urban sprawl is real
2. Property taxes are high
3. The traffic situation is pricey and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Sunset: Great for remote workers. solid vibes, walkable.
- Meadowbrook: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from San Francisco, everything felt better than expected. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are competitive. Gas is reasonable. You can live comfortably on $60K-$110K here.

**Final verdict:**
Feel free to reach out with questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The walkability is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've lived in Westside for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Affordable housing options
- The job market scene is solid

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for families. Good luck with whatever you decide..

We moved here with our family and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Schools in Downtown area are decent. Kids love it here.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in West. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Asian.

No regrets on my end..
