Planning a move to North Lauderdale -neighborhoods?
Hello, I relocated for work and Median household income is $63,423, which feels about average for the area. Poverty rate is 13.2%, which is around average. The median home value here is around $270,600, which seems about average. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Worth the trade-offs? TIA! The food scene here is surprisingly good. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Used to live on the Midtown side, now on the South side. Completely different vibe. I have mixed feelings honestly.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a accountant, 57, moved here 10 years ago from Tampa. I've lived in East and Downtown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Low crime in most neighborhoods
2. Nice parks and green spaces
3. Good airport with direct flights
4. The people are generally excellent - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Not a lot of cultural diversity
2. Limited entertainment options
3. The job market situation is reasonable and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- East: Great for singles. excellent vibes, walkable.
- Downtown: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Tampa, everything felt average. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are stable. Gas is manageable. You can live comfortably on $60K-$120K here.
**Final verdict:**
Hope this helps!. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
