Hey folks, Been living here since 2023. What do you all think? It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

As someone who grew up here, it's been a really good experience overall. A lot has changed in the past few years though. pet-friendliness used to be much manageable but now it's challenging.

Came here for weather and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The healthcare is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in North. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in construction. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Thai.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

We moved here with our family and it exceeded my expectations. Schools in Eastside area are average. Kids love it here.

I've been living here for 3 years and I'd say I love the pace of life here. The cost of living is solid compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value public transit, you'll love it. The community vibe is genuinely excellent and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (Uptown) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Austin, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
