Not sure if this has been asked before, but Crime rate is something to consider -North Laurel sits at 593.4 per 100K. Poverty rate is 1.7%, which is pretty low. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. Worth the trade-offs? The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.
