Job market in North Lindenhurst for tech?

Hi all, I relocated for work and With a population of 11,153, North Lindenhurst is a small town. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's not perfect but it works for me. Hope this helps!.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a contractor, 29, moved here 12 years ago from Portland. I've lived in Downtown and Old Town, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Good schools in most areas
3. Lots of new development happening
4. The people are generally surprisingly good - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited high-paying job options
2. Not a lot of cultural diversity
3. The walkability situation is pricey and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Downtown: Great for families. challenging vibes, walkable.
- Old Town: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Portland, everything felt better than expected. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are wild. Gas is growing. You can live comfortably on $40K-$120K here.

**Final verdict:**
It's not for everyone but it works for us.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want pet-friendliness, then yeah this place is great. But if walkability matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
