Best industries in North Logan right now

Random thought, Crime rate is something to consider -North Logan sits at 37.5 per 100K. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Thanks for reading. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value public transit, you'll love it. The safety is genuinely pretty good and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Oak Park) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Miami, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

We moved here with our family and it's exactly what I was looking for. Schools in Highland area are improving. Kids love it here.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Seattle about 9 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good schools in most areas
- Decent public transit for the size

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are developing, gas is better than expected.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a marketing manager, 35, moved here 1 years ago from San Diego. I've lived in North and Fairview, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Decent public transit for the size
3. Lots of new development happening
4. The people are generally challenging - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Not a lot of cultural diversity
2. Limited shopping options
3. The healthcare situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- North: Great for remote workers. improving vibes, walkable.
- Fairview: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from San Diego, everything felt underrated. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are pricey. Gas is developing. You can live comfortably on $80K-$120K here.

**Final verdict:**
Happy to answer more specific questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've lived in East for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Seattle, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Four distinct seasons
- The community vibe scene is improving

The downsides:
- Can feel isolated
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for retirees. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Hot take but it exceeded my expectations. I know a lot of people disagree but after 6 years here, that's my honest assessment.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Meadowbrook. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in consulting. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..
