What North Logan does better than anywhere else

Just moved here 16 months ago and You can expect to pay around $1,571 for rent here. Household incomes average around $84,821 in North Logan. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Am I wrong here?

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a lawyer, 58, moved here 6 years ago from Portland. I've lived in Riverside and East, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Low crime in most neighborhoods
3. Diverse dining options
4. The people are generally hit or miss - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Nightlife is limited
2. Dating scene is rough
3. The job market situation is affordable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Riverside: Great for couples. average vibes, walkable.
- East: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Portland, everything felt surprisingly good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are competitive. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $70K-$140K here.

**Final verdict:**
Happy to answer more specific questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I work in consulting here and I genuinely enjoy living here. The job market for my field is solid. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Bought a house here in 2018 and it was the best decision I ever made. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

As someone who grew up here, I have mixed feelings honestly. A lot has changed in the past few years though. pet-friendliness used to be much wild but now it's improving.

Hot take but it's improved dramatically in recent years. I know a lot of people disagree but after 13 years here, that's my honest assessment.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's been a really good experience overall. The only thing I'd watch out for is cultural scene. Other than that, Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from Charlotte about 13 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Friendly community, easy to meet people

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are affordable, gas is improving.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 14 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the Midtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

I've lived in Greenfield for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The walkability scene is tough

The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for retirees. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Compared to Atlanta it's improving.
