Considering North Merrick vs Baltimore -help me decide

Hello, Median household income is $156,023, which feels pretty solid for the area. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 6 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is solid.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The West side vs the Westside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Internet is hit or miss in most areas.

Came here for quality of life and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The nightlife is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

As someone who grew up here, I genuinely enjoy living here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. housing market used to be much developing but now it's solid.

I've lived in The Heights for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Strong job market in several industries
- The community vibe scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for singles. Good luck with whatever you decide..
