Alright, Just moved here 10 months ago and It's a a smaller city city with about 59,429 people. You can expect to pay around $1,543 for rent here. The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Would love some local perspective. Thanks for reading.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are excellent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Came here for quality of life and stayed because it's been a really good experience overall. The traffic is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Meadowbrook. It's challenging for what you get.
Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in legal. If you're in legal you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Mexican.
No regrets on my end..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a accountant who relocated here from Austin about 5 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Active local events and festivals
Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Limited high-paying job options
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are manageable, gas is hit or miss.
Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
