So, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Crime rate is something to consider -North Miami sits at 797.8 per 100K. Homes are going for about $326,300 on average. You can expect to pay around $1,543 for rent here. Rent is about $1,543/month for a decent place. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Is this normal for North Miami? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a chef who relocated here from Raleigh about 11 years ago. The main reasons were school and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good healthcare facilities
- Close to major attractions
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Road conditions need improvement
Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are wild, gas is excellent.
Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. No regrets on my end..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are improving, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Bought a house here in 2019 and it's exactly what I was looking for. Property values have gone about the same since then.
