Is North Myrtle Beach walkable?

Property taxes are high but you get good services. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want job market, then yeah this place is great. But if weather matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The community vibe is genuinely better than expected and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Miami, be prepared for the culture shock. pet-friendliness is completely different here. And Not a lot of cultural diversity.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Active local events and festivals
- The food scene scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for singles. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

The food scene here is pretty good. Tons of great craft beer places. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 12 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the Old Town side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a chef who relocated here from Miami about 12 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Affordable housing options
- Good airport with direct flights
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Chain restaurants dominate

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are manageable, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Feel free to reach out with questions..

My experience has been mostly positive. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The only thing I'd watch out for is school system. Other than that, Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
