Just moved to North Myrtle Beach, any tips?

Anyone in a similar situation? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Moved here from Raleigh about 12 years ago. it's not perfect but it works for me. Still getting used to pet-friendliness but Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Came here for work and stayed because there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The nightlife is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Baltimore about 15 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good schools in most areas
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Limited high-paying job options

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are affordable, gas is solid.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
