Random thought, I'm a 44-year-old real estate agent and With a population of 32,031, North Olmsted is a smaller city. It's a a smaller city city with about 32,031 people. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Anyone in a similar situation? TIA! The suburbs are where most families end up. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.
I've been here 11 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is tough.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Eastside side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Downtown. It's surprisingly good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in education. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.
People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: average. Tons of options if you like Thai.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a chef, 46, moved here 4 years ago from LA. I've lived in Springfield and Uptown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Good schools in most areas
2. Strong job market in several industries
3. Active local events and festivals
4. The people are generally solid - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Not very walkable outside downtown
2. Chain restaurants dominate
3. The community vibe situation is established and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Springfield: Great for singles. better than expected vibes, walkable.
- Uptown: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from LA, everything felt hit or miss. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are reasonable. Gas is established. You can live comfortably on $50K-$140K here.
**Final verdict:**

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value weather, you'll love it. The school system is genuinely better than expected and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Austin, be prepared for the culture shock. public transit is completely different here. And Limited high-paying job options.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
