Average temperature is around 52--F, so expect cold winters. You can expect to pay around $1,061 for rent here. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cheers. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a accountant who relocated here from Boston about 10 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Active local events and festivals
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Can feel isolated
Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are stable, gas is tough.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Definitely worth checking out..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want job market, then yeah this place is great. But if school system matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I've lived in Westside for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from San Diego, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good internet infrastructure
- The housing market scene is challenging
The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Limited shopping options
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for retirees. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
