Curious what people think. We're a young couple and It's a a small town city with about 3,041 people. The median home value here is around $223,900, which is actually reasonable. With a population of 3,041, North Sarasota is a small town. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Nice parks and trails
- Strong sense of community

Cons:
- Limited nightlife
- Sprawl everywhere
- Not very walkable
- Chain restaurants dominate
Cheers. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up. The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Tampa and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Sunset. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in finance. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Thai.

Hope this helps!.

As someone who grew up here, I love the pace of life here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. school system used to be much manageable but now it's underrated.

Used to live on the Fairview side, now on the Eastside side. Completely different vibe. I genuinely enjoy living here.

I've lived in Riverside for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Miami, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Four distinct seasons
- The school system scene is improving

The downsides:
- Bugs and humidity in summer
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for families. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Bought a house here in 2020 and the quality of life is solid. Property values have gone about the same since then.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Pine Hills. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in legal. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is public transit. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Worth doing your research before committing.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. I have mixed feelings honestly. Compared to LA it's solid.
