Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm a 55-year-old contractor and You can expect to pay around $2,643 for rent here. With a population of 6,517, North Sea is a small town. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Should I be concerned?

I've been living here for 2 years and I'd say the quality of life is solid. The traffic is improving compared to other places I've lived. Overall Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value safety, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely tough and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Westside) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Boston, be prepared for the culture shock. safety is completely different here. And Property taxes are high.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
