We moved here with our family and it was the best decision I ever made. Schools in Highland area are hit or miss. Kids love it here.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a pharmacist, 24, moved here 3 years ago from New York. I've lived in Midtown and Lakewood, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Low crime in most neighborhoods
2. Decent public transit for the size
3. Diverse dining options
4. The people are generally underrated - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Urban sprawl is real
2. Can feel isolated
3. The cultural scene situation is developing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Midtown: Great for remote workers. improving vibes, walkable.
- Lakewood: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from New York, everything felt decent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are reasonable. Gas is growing. You can live comfortably on $70K-$80K here.

**Final verdict:**
Feel free to reach out with questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want healthcare, then yeah this place is great. But if traffic matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

As someone who grew up here, I love the pace of life here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cost of living used to be much wild but now it's hit or miss.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I genuinely enjoy living here. Compared to Pittsburgh it's tough.

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Four distinct seasons
- The walkability scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Urban sprawl is real

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for singles. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I work in legal here and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The job market for my field is decent. Good luck with whatever you decide..
