What's it really like living in North Star?

Anyone else feel this way? I'm single, late 20s, and Median household income is $167,664, which feels pretty solid for the area. Homes are going for about $566,500 on average. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. We moved here with our family and it was the best decision I ever made. Schools in Eastside area are improving. Kids love it here.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 12 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Eastside side vs the Greenfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

I've been living here for 2 years and I'd say I have mixed feelings honestly. The cost of living is better than expected compared to other places I've lived. Overall Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Bought a house here in 2018 and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value community vibe, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely underrated and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (North) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Nashville, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Hot take but it's been a really good experience overall. I know a lot of people disagree but after 5 years here, that's my honest assessment.
