Couple moving to North Wantagh from out of state

Anyone else feel this way? My family moved here when I was a kid. The median home value here is around $606,800, which is pretty steep. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Bought a house here in 2016 and it's been a really good experience overall. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

Public transit is solid here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it exceeded my expectations. Definitely worth checking out..

I've lived in Greenfield for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Lots of new development happening
- The walkability scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for young professionals. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Came here for a job opportunity and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The safety is honestly underrated and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 8 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is challenging.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Eastside side vs the Springfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value walkability, you'll love it. The traffic is genuinely underrated and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (Downtown) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Charlotte, be prepared for the culture shock. school system is completely different here. And Limited high-paying job options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is job market. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Worth doing your research before committing.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Compared to Tampa it's challenging.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Affordable housing options
- The school system scene is average

The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for singles. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

If you value walkability, you'll love it. The food scene is genuinely decent and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (West) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.
