Unpopular opinion about North Wantagh

Curious what people think. I'm a college student here and Median household income is $164,798, which feels pretty solid for the area. It's a a small town city with about 11,716 people. Homes are going for about $606,800 on average. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Thoughts? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

I've been living here for 11 years and I'd say it exceeded my expectations. The safety is better than expected compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's exactly what I was looking for. Internet is tough in most areas.

I've been living here for 9 years and I'd say I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The food scene is improving compared to other places I've lived. Overall Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've been living here for 14 years and I'd say it was the best decision I ever made. The walkability is solid compared to other places I've lived. Overall Happy to answer more specific questions..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in East for 15 years. Moved from Seattle for my partner's job. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is excellent. We bought in 2020 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
manufacturing is strong here. finance is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are competitive for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The outdoor scene is surprisingly good - we have ski resorts within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. East schools are hit or miss. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Winters are long and cold. Urban sprawl is real. And walkability can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 9/10. No regrets on my end.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want safety, then yeah this place is great. But if weather matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value dating scene, you'll love it. The traffic is genuinely hit or miss and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (Pine Hills) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from New York, be prepared for the culture shock. housing market is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Used to live on the Pine Hills side, now on the Meadowbrook side. Completely different vibe. it's exactly what I was looking for.

I've lived in Downtown for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Affordable housing options
- The walkability scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for singles. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Came here for cost of living and stayed because I love the pace of life here. The dating scene is honestly tough and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
